Recent graduates protract to strengthen Philadelphia's local economy and workforce—89 percent of recent graduates who were working at a job eight months without graduating from theHigherwere employed in the Philadelphia metro area. TheHigherenables students to embark on a smart path to a bachelor’s stratum program, with transfer agreements and partnerships to squire in the transition. We offer a wide range of scholarships to squire students paying tuition at theHigheror a four-year institution. To unbend a wide range of students,  we offer day, evening and weekend classes on our Main Campus and at our three Regional Centers. Online and hybrid courses and stratum programs provide plane increasingly flexibility when pursuing a higher education. Historical Highlights Founded in 1964, theHigheropened for classes in 1965 in a former department store at 34 S. 11th Street while a permanent campus was stuff sought. In 1971 theHigheracquired the third Philadelphia Mint towers at 1700 Spring Garden Street from the federal government, and theHigherbegan holding classes there in 1973. TheHighermaintained both the 11th Street and 17th Street campuses until the spring of 1983 when all of our Main Campus facilities, including the West and Bonnell buildings, were built and consolidated into the permanent campus at 17th Street. The Winnet Student LifeTowersand Gymnasium were completed in September 1991. The West RegionalPart-wayopened in 1992, the Northeast RegionalPart-wayin 1994 and the Northwest RegionalPart-wayin 1999. Groundbreaking for thePart-wayforMerchantryand Industry took place in November 2001, and the towers was completed in January 2003. Groundbreaking for a new towers at the Northeast RegionalPart-waytook place in April 2009, and the new towers was completed in summer 2010. A major renovation and expansion of the College’s Main Campus began in summer 2009. A new PavilionTowershousing the Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management programs, new student and staff dining services, the WelcomePart-wayand portions of the newHigherBookstore opened in fall 2011. Renovations to portions of the Bonnell, Mint and West buildings were completed in fall 2014. New construction at the West Regional Center, scheduled to uncork in 2019, will double the topics of the College's Automotive Technology programs and move the part-way toward rhadamanthine a hub for career and technical training. Renovations at all locations to libraries will establish state-of-the-art learning meals equipped with technological advancements to meet individual and group study needs.
